Smith Zimmermann Heritage Museum

This replica was built by George Smith according to the dimensions of an early pioneer claim shanty.  Some early pioneers had to live in such shanties when they first arrived on the prairies until they could build bigger and better homes.  The inside and outside of the shanty was often covered with old newspapers or black tar paper to help keep out the cold winds of winter.
